The Sugar Hill City Council recently awarded a $1,079,109 contract to Barnsley Construction Group for improvements to the Bowl concert venue. The design includes a new concession kiosk between City Hall and the suites, upgraded seating options and surface materials in the Bowl, and permanent divider panels in the suites.

Barnsley Construction was the lowest of four qualified bidders for the work. The project is expected to take a little over six months to complete and be ready in time for the city’s first concert in the 2020 series.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
