An Ameribistro location in DeKalb County failed its recent health inspection with a variety of concerns.

The restaurant, located at 3039 Panola Road outside Lithonia, received a 53 on Monday, according to the inspector's report.

The inspector complained of seeing an employee handle raw meat and then sliced cheese without changing gloves. The report also says the inspector saw improper storage:

  • Raw steak stored next to coleslaw
  • Bacon bits in bottom of prep-top cooler
  • Raw beef burger stacked directly on container of cooked chicken in walk-in cooler

A message left for the restaurant’s leaders wasn’t returned Thursday. A cashier said she understood that staff had been fixing the issues since the failure.

Restaurants that fail typically are checked again within 10 days.
