The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners recently approved a contract that will handle major construction work at its new south precinct for the police department.

The $680,000 contract with Litchy Construction will help finalize the relocation of the police precinct from its current location on Candler Road to a former Toys R Us store at 2842 H.H. Shepherd Dr., near Decatur.

Construction work should be completed by year’s end, leaving small details for the opening early next year.
