A DeKalb County social worker pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges she fraudulently collected almost 500 checks totaling $409,000 for providing respite care that she did not give.

Margo Dubose allegedly filed paperwork to have checks sent to various post office boxes that had been rented under the names Antonio Robinson, L. Lawson, Rodrigos Gonzalez, Annie Edwards and Keith Smith.

Dubose allegedly took the money over six of the nine years she worked in the adoption division of the Department of Human Services. She is facing five counts of theft by taking.
