Snellville officials will hold a ceremony celebrating the completion of the Livable Centers Initiative at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wisteria Drive and Clower Street. Residents are encouraged to attend.
Work began on the $3 million project in the summer of 2014 and is designed to be the focal point of the Towne Center.
The project area covers three major streets in the Central Business District - Oak Road, Clower Street and Wisteria Drive.
Improvements include: more than 5,000 feet of new sidewalks, a 5-foot planting strip for new trees, flowers and shrubbery, brick paver crosswalks to slow traffic and encourage walking, new lighting fixtures and benches, bike racks and other pedestrian amenities.
