The Smyrna City Council decided on Nov. 18 to spend $515,863 on employee raises, a roof replacement and a radio console in the E-911 Center.

Staff are scheduled to receive merit increases on Jan. 1, totaling $296,415 in the Fiscal Year 2020 budget amendment.

Public Works will receive a roof replacement from the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Riley Contracting Inc. of Senoia, for $141,871.

For $74,992, an additional emergency radio console in the E-911 Center will be the fifth radio position to better serve Police and Fire personnel during emergencies.

Motorola equipment has been standardized for the Cobb County radio system and is a sole source purchase.

The solution will be one MCC 7500 Console with equipment purchased from Motorola Inc.

The proposed system will be compatible with existing consoles and the Cobb County Master site.
