Smoke reported at Equitable Building in downtown Atlanta

Atlanta firefighters responded to reports of smoke at the Equitable Building in downtown Atlanta Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters reported smoke on the 25th and 27th floors and in the penthouse but said there was no fire.

"There was a problem with the air handler causing smoke," fire officials said in a statement. "Occupants started self-evacuating prior to [firefighters] arriving."

There were no injuries.
