If Monroe Drive was part of your afternoon drive, you needed an alternative route, thanks to a sinkhole on the busy Midtown street.
One northbound lane of Monroe Drive, between 8th Street and Virginia Avenue, was expected to remain closed until late Wednesday as crews repaired the sinkhole, according to Atlanta's Department of Watershed Management. The sinkhole was in the area of Henry W. Grady High School.
Motorists were advised to find an alternative route.
