Rondell Muwwakkil, 48, of Atlanta, robbed banks inside grocery stores in Ellenwood, Decatur, Duluth and Newnan, the Justice Department said. He would wait in line like a normal customer, then pass a note to a teller demanding all their loose bills in denominations from $10 to $100.

Muwwakkil was apprehended after a tipster called the FBI in summer 2017. His fingerprint was found on a demand note given to a teller during a robbery at a Best Bank branch inside an Elllenwood Kroger on Aug. 22, 2017.

Muwwakkil will serve 14 years in federal prison and three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $7,961 in restitution. He pleaded guilty to two of the five robberies he was charged with on Jan. 5.
