Crews are continuing their search for a man who went underwater at Lake Lanier on Friday.

Troy Landers Keijuan Harden, 29, of Atlanta, went underwater while on a pontoon boat between Aqualand Marina and Port Royal Marina, Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said. It is not known how Harden went underwater.

McKinnon said rangers were continuing their search in the 125-foot-deep water, but heavy timber along the bottom was making the search difficult.

“The search efforts are primarily being conducted in the evenings and overnight due to heavy boat traffic during the day,” McKinnon said.

DNR Law Enforcement Aviation is also flying over the area twice per day as part of the search effort, McKinnon said.

On Sunday, officials found what may be the body of Kevin Theodore Husum, 23, of Florida, near Three Sisters Island on Lake Lanier. Husum fell from a pontoon boat Aug. 6, went underwater and did not resurface, McKinnon said.

The boat's operator, Kenneth Toller of Cumming, was arrested on boating under the influence charges in connection with the incident.
