Intersection improvements at Spalding Drive and Pitts Road are the topic of a public information open house later this month in Sandy Springs.

The meeting is set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 25 in the council chambers at Sandy Springs City Hall, 7840 Roswell Road. No formal presentation is planned, but city representatives will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.

The intersection is to get upgraded traffic signals and two left-turn lanes, northbound and eastbound. The improvements are estimated to cost $500,000 and are to start in early 2018, according to a list of city road projects.

The project will be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters in November 2016.
