An Italian restaurant, an American eatery and a Jamaican cafe were recently stacked against each other to see which one was best.

According to Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber members, the city's "Restaurant of the Year" was the Italian spot: il Giallo Osteria & Bar.

il Giallo Osteria, which opened at 5920 Roswell Road NE in November 2015, beat out Chamber nominees Southern Bistro and Chef Rob's Caribbean Café.

The coastal Italian spot is co-owned by Jamie Adams and Leonardo Moura, who worked at Veni Vidi Vici in Midtown together before breaking out on their own.

Moura received the award at the fifth annual "Sandy's" awards gala Saturday.
