Sandy Springs officials have unveiled new branding and a logo for the city’s emerging City Center Development, gathering Sunday on the site of the future city hall and performing arts center, near Johnson Ferry and Roswell roads.

The development site, along with territory stretching from Allen Road to Johnson Ferry has been dubbed the City Springs District. The logo developed by the brand design firm Iconologic matches that, with elements evoking trees and water and colors matching the green and blue in the city’s logo.

“The name and image generates the strong image of place and pride we have in our community,” said Mayor Rusty Paul.

Work at the site continues with site excavation for the performing arts center and a parking deck underway. In addition to the performing arts center and city building, the area will include green space, street-level retail, restaurants and specialty stores.

The roughly $220 million public portion of the project is expected to be finished by the end of 2017.
