For 40 years, a sandwich shop that started in Delaware has maintained its method of slow-roasting whole turkeys overnight, hand-shredding the meat in the morning and serving it up sub-style for hungry customers.
If that made your mouth water, just be patient: Georgia's only Capriotti's is soft-opening Oct. 5 at 777 Townpark Lane in Kennesaw.

A grand opening will be held Oct. 8, where the first 100 guests in line will be offered free nine-inch Bobbies — which come with the aforementioned turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and a little mayo slow-roasting — for a year. The next 50 in line will get a free sandwich and all other patrons will get $2 coupons for future visits, according to a spokesperson.
A team of three Atlanta-based investors, including JD Sun, Shelly Sun and David Barr, made an eight-figure investment to help "take the brand to the next level," the spokesperson said. In addition, Barr, who is chairman and founder of PMTD restaurants, will add six Capriotti's to the Atlanta market.
A Duluth location under different ownership closed earlier this year. Capriotti's locations exist in 19 states.
