Roundabout coming to Buford

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners has awarded a contract to install a roundabout at the intersection of Sardis Church Road and Doc Hughes Road in Buford. Curb and gutter, lighting and sidewalks are also part of the project.
Peach State Construction Co. LLC was the lowest of 11 bidders at $518,453. Funding comes from the 2014 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program.
“I’m optimistic about the potential to improve traffic safety with this intersection design,” said District 4 Commissioner John Heard. “Innovative solutions like this roundabout make Gwinnett the best place to do business in the nation.”
