Roswell has scheduled a public information open house for 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building at Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road . The meeting is to discuss the “complete street” project planned for Jones Road from Bowen to Woodstock roads, a response to residents’ concerns about speeding and traffic volumes.

The Roswell Department of Transportation’s complete street design maintains traffic flow while accommodating pedestrians and bicyclists, officials said. Jones would get four-foot-wide bike lanes eastbound and westbound, sidewalks on one side of the street, and a multi-use trail on the other. The trail would be part of the Roswell Loop connecting Leita Thompson Memorial Park to Roswell Area Park.

The design also is intended to reduce driver speeds, improve sight distance for side streets and driveways, and address access requirements of Fire Station No. 3 at Jones and Lake Charles Drive.
