Having recently lost its parks director to a neighboring community, Roswell has put out the word that it’s seeking “a seasoned professional” to lead its Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department.
According to a recruitment brochure, “Work involves managing the daily operations of the department with primary responsibility to support the priorities of the mayor and City Council and the Roswell Recreation Commission.” The brochure gives a salary range of $89,067 to $142,507, with a midpoint of $115,787.
A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration, public administration or closely related field (a master’s degree is preferred), 10 years of progressively responsible recreation management experience, and certification as a park and recreation professional by the National Recreation and Parks Association.
The successful hire would succeed Morgan Rodgers, who begins a new job April 24 as director of recreation, parks and cultural affairs in Alpharetta.
