Alpharetta has been trying to make the nickname "Technology City of the South" stick.

Monday’s announcement — that a tech company from Silicon Valley is expanding to the city north of Atlanta — will help with that.

Worthix, a scientifically designed technology aimed at determining customer wants and behavior, announced that they are opening up a new location in Alpharetta that will encompass its marketing, sales and customer success teams, along with, operations and finance departments. Worthix is the latest to join the 600-plus tech companies that call the north Fulton city home.

The company’s CEO, Guilherme Cerqueira, said Alpharetta was attractive to him because of the large talent pool of qualified personnel, the low cost of owning and operating a business in the city and the overall quality of life in the area.

“Alpharetta allows startups to have the best of these three factors,” he said.

Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle said Worthix choosing to come to Alpharetta “is a testament to Alpharetta’s strength as a technology destination.”

Some of Worthix’s customers include Chevron, 3M, Vivo and IBM.
