The Roswell City Council unanimously approved a resolution Wednesday morning asking Governor Nathan Deal to veto House Bill 179, saying that it “is deemed to have an adverse impact for the citizens of Roswell.”

HB179 would give billboard owners the right to clear-cut state-owned roadside trees that block drivers’ view of their signs.

The council members met at City Hall to vote on the item as part of a special-called meeting.
