Roswell will hold a chili cook-off from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at Leita Thompson Memorial Park.

The competition is only open to Roswell residents. Competitors can sign up online until Oct. 1 at www.roswellgov.com/chili. Rules for competition can be found at the website. There is no entry fee.

Spectator tickets are $20 and entitle the buyer to all the chili he or she wants, a ballot for the best chili, a handmade ceramic bowl and $5 in tickets for other items such as drinks or baked goods.

Monetary prizes for professional and amateur cooks will be $100 for first place and $50 for second place.
