Road closure alert in downtown Kennesaw
Due to construction and the rebuilding of crosswalks in Kennesaw, Lewallen Construction temporarily will close a portion of Watts Drive and the intersection of Main Street and Watts Drive during this week through April 6.
The following closures are required to remove brick pavers:
- Watts Drive between Main Street to Little General Cloggers Lane from 9 a.m. April 4 to 5 a.m. April 6.
- Main Street between J. O. Stephenson Avenue and Summers Street from 8 p.m. April 5 to 5 a.m. April 6.
There will be limited access from Summers Street to the Main Street driveway of Revival on Main during this time.
Following removal of the brick pavers, the contractor will close individual lanes on Main Street to reinstall crosswalks on Main Street and Watts Drive.
While through traffic will be permitted, drivers should anticipate delays as single lanes shift and close.
The crosswalk improvements, part of the Dallas/Watts project, are intended to provide increased pedestrian safety.
The rebuilding of the crosswalks is expected to be completed within the week.
Individual lane closures may extend to the week of April 9 if weather interferes with the posted schedule.
