The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its June 16 regular meeting to approve a rezoning request for property at West Village Parkway and Bowden Road in the northern end of the county.

The site’s zoning is changed from residential-agricultural to mixed use. Commissioner Bruce Holmes, in whose district the property lies, said he is excited about the new development planned for the site, with curbside commercial and retail businesses along West Village Parkway, which is expected to be widened this fall as a SPLOST project.

Holmes added that the project will add to an area that already has much to offer local residents.
