The developer of the new Overlook retail center in Peachtree City plans a novel approach to dealing with stormwater runoff.
Last Thursday Jim Lowe of Trinity Development showed the City Council of Peachtree City detailed plans to channel water from the center’s parking lots into a specially designed wetlands area inside the adjacent Line Creek Nature Area.
The installation, which has the endorsement of the Southern Conservation Trust, will use vegetation to help filter and disperse water that otherwise would have gone into an underground tank before entering the creek.
The wetland will cost approximately $575,000 and be maintained by Trinity.
