An overnight fire forced two residents to jump from a third-floor balcony at a Chamblee apartment complex.

A firefighter was also injured fighting the blaze, which broke out just before midnight Thursday at the Gentry Walk complex off North Peachtree Road.

All three of the injuries were minor, DeKalb fire Battalion Chief Greg Rucker told Channel 2 Action News.

One of the residents who jumped from a balcony was transported to a local hospital, while the other was treated at the scene, Rucker said.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries from falling sheet rock, according to Rucker.

The cause of the fire, which displaced several families and destroyed about half the building, is under investigation.
