As the new performing arts center in Fairview nears completion, the Henry County Board of Education voted at its May 11 business meeting to accept a $2,728,000 bid for extensive renovations of the existing PAC in McDonough.

The work will be done by SRS of Griffin, and funding for the project will come from the district’s special-purpose local option sales tax. The projects includes dozens of items ranging from new seating and flooring in some areas to parking lot repair and new signage. The facility opened in the fall of 1998 and a renovation/addition was completed in 2009, according to the district’s website.
