Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel recently completed major renovations to its lobby, meeting rooms, fitness center and guest rooms, according to a press release. Inspired by Atlanta’s long history of rejecting traditional Southern norms and embracing all that is edgy and non-traditional, the revamped spaces are sophisticated and unique, paying homage to Midtown Atlanta’s thriving tech boom and vibrant art scene.

Inspired by the eclectic energy and urban sensibility of Midtown Atlanta, award-winning firm Studio 11 Design created and executed a one-of-a-kind concept fusing art with cutting-edge technology. The design team coupled unexpected throwback art pieces with surprising tech elements to create a sophisticated, edgy and bold aesthetic. The use of concrete materials and neutral colors, a nod to the neighborhood’s industrial past, is juxtaposed by elements of whimsy: repurposed cassette tapes and floppy disks in bold colors.

Fulfilling the need for an enlivened arrival experience and social gathering space, the new lobby creates a seamless transition between the check-in area and the hotel’s restaurant. The open space is now inclusive of Community Smith restaurant, creating an all-encompassing space for visitors to gather, socialize, and dine, making the hotel’s lobby primed to become Atlanta’s go-to destination.

The new spaces have an ultramodern feel that is enhanced by the use of tech-themed artwork and sculptures, as well as brightly-colored, custom-woven carpet. Vintage finds and re-sourced materials adorn the spaces in unanticipated ways. The fitness center has been redesigned with an edgy theme and state-of-the-art equipment including two Peloton bikes. In addition to a refreshed look and feel for all guest rooms, the hotel’s 15,000 square feet of meeting space are updated as well, cementing Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel’s re-emergence as one of Midtown Atlanta’s most beautiful hotels.

Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel is managed by Denver-based Sage Hospitality and is owned by Carey Watermark Investors 2 Incorporated.
