Rabid raccoon found in Lilburn

Gwinnett County has issued a rabies alert after a raccoon found in Lilburn tested positive for the disease.

The animal was found on Newport Lane on June 8. Anyone handling the raccoon or anyone who has been bitten or scratched by any stray animal should call the Gwinnett county Animal Welfare and Enforcement Bite Office at 770-339-3200, Ext. 5576.
