Monday afternoon traffic in Atlanta could get a little scarier than usual on Halloween.

The Georgia Department of Transportation expects rush hour to start about 3 p.m. and slowly die down about 6 p.m. as trick-or-treaters begin making their rounds.

Sunset in Atlanta is at 6:46 p.m. today.

GDOT is asking drivers to be especially aware of every ghost and goblin walking the streets. Spokesman Drew Belk said pedestrian levels through the state will be high Monday night.

The department is also warning drivers not to drive under the influence and pay attention at all crosswalks.
