Powder Springs former Police Chief L. Rick Richardson is scheduled to ask the City Council for his job back at a special council meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the City Council Chambers on Marietta Street, next to City Hall. Richardson, who served as police chief for more than 17 years was fired in February for allegedly selling 2 police cars and one public works vehicle outside of the authorized public auction process and far below the market value of the vehicles, said City Manager Rick Eckert. Richardson couldn't be reached for comment.
