A popular pub in East Cobb failed its recent health inspection for having a dirty kitchen, according to Cobb County health department records.

Keegan’s Public House, at 4401 Shallowford Road, scored a 67 on its Thursday health check, records show. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

C.J. Hodges, the pub’s general manager, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday that his staff had corrected the violations.

“We care about running a clean, professional establishment,” he said.

The eatery was cited for having a “heavy debris buildup” on its soda nozzles and a greasy hood vent above the grills and stove.

The bottom of a table in the kitchen was rusted, the inspector noted.

Hodges said he was going to sand off the rust, seal it and re-paint it.

“I can’t say enough how much we take this to heart, how much I take it to heart,” Hodges said.

The pub earned a 95 in December 2016 and a 100 in March of that year.

Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
