Mama Mia's, which has served pizza and pasta to the Lilburn area for more than three decades, is closing its doors.

Owner Karen Parker posted the news on Facebook this week.

"To all my loyal customers," she wrote, "it is time to say goodbye. Yes Mama Mia's is closing its doors on April 2nd. We will be closed Friday night April 1st for a final private party for a lovely bride and groom to be, but will serve lunch that day as well as being opened all day on Saturday, April 2nd so we can hopefully say our final goodbyes to all who come to dine with us."

Mama Mia's opened in 1978 and is currently located at 5394 Five Forks Trickum Road. Its website boasts of "genuine recipes," fresh ingredients and "nearly world famous three meat lasagna."

In her Facebook post, Parker said Mama Mia's location will be filled by a barbecue restaurant -- and that she'll be sticking around in a less-demanding capacity.

"The new owners have decided to keep our pizzas and salads on the menu and keep me there to help them," she wrote. "So excited for this new chapter in my life."
