Clayton County police raided a convenience store they claimed was a front for illegal drug sales.

Three people were arrested and Clayton narcotics police seized $2,551 and 1.3 pounds of marijuana from the M & M Variety Store at 620 South Commercial Parkway near Jonesboro, police spokesman Sgt. Otis Willis said.

Cedrick Vachon Smith, 35, of Lithonia, Amanda Nichole Davis, 23, of Stockbrige, and Frederick Maxwell IV, 38, of Atlanta were each charged with possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute, authorities said.

All three are being held at the Clayton County jail. Maxwell and Smith have bonds set at $33,200 each, while Davis' bond is $27,900.

The investigation continues.
