Gwinnett County police are asking for the public's help in solving the murder of a construction worker found dead last week near Duluth.

Peter Daley, 73, of Houston, Texas, was found shot to death about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Pineland Road, according to Gwinnett police spokesman Jeffery Richter.

"Mr. Daley was a traveling construction worker who periodically worked in the metropolitan Atlanta area, often frequenting Gwinnett County," Richter said.

First responders initially assumed Daley died accidentally. But police are treating the death as a homicide after an autopsy concluded the victim had been shot in the head.

Richter asked that anyone who may have contracted with or employed Daley, or anyone who was hired by or employed by him, contact homicide detectives at 770-513-5300.
