UPDATE [10 p.m.]: Gwinnett County police said that the man and his daughter were found safe and are back home.

ORIGINAL STORY: Gwinnett County police are asking the public for help locating a man and his young daughter who were reported missing Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said William Smith, 46, and 4-year-old Brooklyn Smith were last seen at their Snellville-area home about noon.

When Smith’s wife returned to the house on Mistletoe Lane about 2 p.m., her husband and daughter were gone, police said. The man’s black 2003 Toyota Tundra is also missing.

Police said William Smith suffers from a medical condition that requires immediate care and may be disoriented. He is bald with a thin build, and Brooklyn is described as petite with strawberry blonde hair. A description of their clothing was not provided.

Police said the black pickup truck they may be riding in could have one of two license plates: PZN6234 or ADK9226.

Anyone with information about the missing father and daughter is asked to call Gwinnett detectives at 770-513-5300.
