Last June, construction crews broke ground on the $11.3-million task of building Lilburn's new City Hall building. Situated at the corner of Main and Church streets, the 24,ooo square-foot government complex will be accompanied by a 20,000 square-foot branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library and, officials hope, an iconic clock tower visible from nearby Lawrenceville Highway.

"It's going to increase the visibility, and ultimately the economic viability, of Main Street," Lilburn spokeswoman Nikki Perry said this week.

Weather-permitting, construction will be completed by November. In the meantime, check out this timeline of photos showing the progress already made.
