Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason swore in Hersila Morrow as the city’s second code enforcement officer on Jan. 21. She has worked in code enforcement for 10 years for Norcross, Doraville and most recently for DeKalb County.
Peachtree Corners code enforcement officers investigate complaints including overgrown properties, inoperable and/or unlicensed motor vehicles, debris and litter strewn properties, unsecured vacant structures, commercial and home businesses operating without paying required occupational taxes, illegal signage and building permits among other matters.
Officer Morrow, a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, most recently served in Kuwait. During her naval career she worked as a police officer and customs inspector and recently earned her associates degree from ITT Tech in criminal justice.
