The public introduction of Peachtree City’s updated Livable Centers Initiative on Feb. 27 brought a roomful of people to City Hall to offer their comments.

The city is using a $128,000 grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission to study how various aspects of the Ga. 74/54 commercial district can be improved. Consultants from Atlanta-based TSW set up display boards so that visitors could use color-coded stickers to provide feedback about transportation and housing preferences that will be used to guide redevelopment of the area for more efficient use. The consultants are asking for comments on issues facing older residents who are aging in place, as well as younger professionals and families who want mixed-use areas, better connectivity and more affordable housing.

An online study is posted for public comment at www.peachtreecitylci.com until April 30. More LCI-related community events are planned for April.
