Peachtree City’s Public Facilities Authority will not meet Thursday after the city council decided Tuesday to extend discussions about whether to create a $2 million municipal broadband service.

City Manager Jon Rorie presented comprehensive details about the proposal during a public workshop, after which he and the council members agreed that more data regarding financing and the potential customer base should be obtained and evaluated by staff.

“We’re just not quite there yet,” Rorie said. The facilities authority meeting would precede a council decision, possibly in early January.
