A Paulding County teacher is accused of waking up a friend's 14-year-old son and trying to pull his pants down, according to an incident report obtained by the AJC.
Shanna Detweiler, 40, has been charged with child molestation and sexual battery for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship the boy in December, according to Cpl. Brandon Gurley with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.
Detweiler was arrested Tuesday and posted a $4,050 bond Wednesday evening, Gurley said.
The boy's mother, who lives on the same street as Detweiler, told police her two sons were spending the night at Detweiler's home when the incident occurred, according to the report. The mother told police that Detweiler was wearing a see-through nightgown and holding a bottle of lotion when she allegedly awakened the boy.
Detweiler also put her fingers in the boy's mouth and asked him to suck them, according to mother's claims in the incident report. Detweiler allegedly tried to pull down the boy's pants, but he refused.
Detweiler is listed as a science teacher at Austin Middle School on the school's Web site.
Investigators have described the actions as "inappropriate sexual contact" between Detweiler and the boy. The incident did not take place on school grounds.
"She is no longer in the classroom," Sharon Roper with the Paulding County school system said Wednesday evening.
