A 27-year-old Paulding County woman was killed early Sunday in a one-car crash, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Kristen Prewett was the passenger in the vehicle, which ran off Nebo Road near Pine Shadows Drive around 3 a.m. The driver, James Morley, was taken to an area hospital. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
Morley was driving west when the passenger side tires dropped off the edge of the roadway, causing him to overcorrect, the state patrol said. The vehicle came back across the road and went off the other side, overturning several times down an embankment, the state patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending, the state patrol said.
