Najee Logan and Justin Larry were arrested on Dec. 5.

Two armed robbery suspects were arrested early Thursday morning after their car ran out of gas and they were stranded on the side of the road, Gwinnett County police said.

Najee Logan, 18, of Lilburn, and Justin Larry, 21, of Lilburn, were both charged with armed robbery. Logan was also charged with giving a false name to officers.

A man called police around 1 a.m., reporting he had been robbed in the parking lot of a Kroger on Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain. A car had parked next to his car, and the two men in the car got out and pointed guns at him, demanding the victim hand over his wallet, according to a police release.

The victim was able to give officers a detailed description of the men and the red car they drove off in. Less than 15 minutes later, an officer who hadn’t responded to the robbery call saw a car matching the victim’s description about two miles from the Kroger where the robbery occurred.

The officer spoke to the occupants, Logan and Larry, and discovered they had run out of gas. The officer began to search the car on an unrelated drug charge and found items that “may have been linked to the previous armed robbery,” according to the release. Both were arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
