“Traffic pacing” to facilitate bridge construction in the coming nights will reduce traffic to a crawl on northbound Ga. 400 in the Buckhead-Sandy Springs area, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

Police vehicles will slow traffic to about 15 mph from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Friday, Jan. 11, from Lenox Road in Buckhead to Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs, GDOT said.

Police also will be positioned at on-ramps to temporarily restrict traffic from entering Ga. 400 until the pacing operation ends. The impacted, northbound ramps are from Lenox Road, the Glenridge Connector, eastbound and westbound I-285, and Hammond Drive.

The work is "weather permitting" and part of the continuing reconstruction of the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange in the top-end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties. Information: https://bit.ly/2jfU8S7
