JCPenney will hire approximately 39,000 seasonal associates across the country to fill a variety of positions for the upcoming holiday season, the department store announced in a news release this week.

In metro Atlanta, the store seeks about 550 people to fill positions for customer service, cashier, replenishment specialist, in-store SEPHORA beauty consultant and more.
A total of 900 seasonal positions are expected to open across the state.

To try and attract and retain associates this holiday season, JCPenney is also introducing reward packages to eight randomly-drawn hourly associates at stores, supply chains and call centers that remain with the company through Dec. 29, 2019.
They can enter for the chance to win $5,000 in paid trips and lodging to Banff, Alberta, Canada; New York and Miami.
“Five other lucky winners will receive a prize package worth $5,000, each with a different theme, including smart home, outdoor, technology and glamour bundles,” according to JCPenney.

The store is hosting its second annual National Hiring Day event to find individuals to fill the 900 Georgia positions. The event will be held on 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.
"During the event, management will be holding in-person interviews and making employment offers to qualified candidates on-the-spot. All skill levels are welcome and individuals are encouraged to apply online at jcpcareers.com or in-store at one of our applicant kiosks prior to attending the event," the company wrote.
Those hired will enjoy full associate discounts of up to 25 percent, plus flexible holiday scheduling.
