Looking for a job this October? You may be in luck, because many Atlanta companies are hiring in large numbers for the upcoming holiday season. The positions can bolster your holiday budget, and if you're interested in longer-term employment at the company, you'll be at an advantage.
Check out the following companies, all of which are making big hires in metro Atlanta this October:

Target
As the Christmas shopping season approaches, Target is boosting seasonal hires for its approximately 1,800 stores and its distribution centers – including those in the Atlanta area. All Target locations are hosting in-store hiring events from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. from Oct. 12-14, where you can interview and potentially receive an on-the-spot job offer. Just over 260 Atlanta-area Target jobs are already listed online, including seasonal as well as year-round positions.
UPS
UPS has about 90 job openings listed in the Atlanta area, and although you may think only of drivers, the company has many types of careers. Current openings include those for a marketing senior data analyst, accounting manager, compliance and ethics supervisor and yes, package delivery drivers. Kohl's
Kohl's department store chain plans to hire more than 90,000 seasonal employees nationwide in anticipation of the holiday shopping season. If you're added during the hiring spree, you'll get an employee discount and may also be considered for open full- and part-time positions after the season. Look at openings online, and check out your local store on Saturday, Oct. 20 to see if it's participating in Kohl's national hiring event. If so, you'll be able to interview on that day.
Gap Inc.
The retailer expects to hire more than 400 seasonal workers to service metro Atlanta stores with in-store positions as well as jobs in call centers and distribution centers. In addition, all Gap Inc. stores – Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic and Old Navy – will hold a hiring event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6.
