This is a roundup of recent crimes of note in north Fulton County. It is based on arrest warrants, police reports and jail records. At this point, these are allegations by law enforcement. For crimes in Sandy Springs, some of these reports are from Captain Steve Rose’s “Weekly Wrap Up.”
Dog left in car
An Alpharetta woman was cited for cruelty to animals when police found she left her dog in her car on May 13 in the Costco parking lot at 2855 Jordan Court. Police discovered the dog around 2 p.m. after someone called. Police said the small dog appeared to be in distress and temperatures in her 2006 Toyota Sienna had creeped up to 109 degrees. The woman walked out to her car at 2:18 p.m., and a receipt showed that she exited Costco at 1:44 p.m. The woman had left the window cracked and water in the car, but the dog was not able to get to it. The dog did not suffer any serious injuries. The woman is due in court on June 9.
Shower and run
A woman staying at a Hilton Hotel in Sandy Spring called police on May 6 after she got out of the shower and found several of her personal items missing. The woman said she was staying at the hotel with a friend named Andrew, but when she got out of the shower, Andrew, her car keys, her car, debit and credit cards, $800 in cash and a handgun were gone.
The woman described Andrew as a friend, and no arrests have yet been made in the case.

Perfume thief
Officers with the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety responded to the Ulta at 7300 North Point Pkwy on May 1 after an employee called saying a man had stolen perfume and fled the store. A police report says the man stole six bottles of Chanel perfume and three bottles on Jimmy Choo perfume, totaling more than $900. He was last seen running towards the Hyatt Place Hotel and entering a white Honda. Police recovered surveillance images of him and the getaway car, but no arrests have been made in the case.
Bar fight
A 40-year-old Marietta woman told police she was assaulted by three women outside Tony’s Sports Bar on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The woman identified one of the attackers as a server at another local bar. The woman also told police that her Rolex watch was taken in the fight. Police talked to a man who identified himself as the victim’s boyfriend and he said the fight broke out when she yelled to him, “Stop talking to those (expletives)!”

Alpharetta autobahn
Alpharetta police arrested a man on May 15 when an officer clocked him driving at 103 mph in a posted 65 mph zone on Ga. 400 near Mansell Road. The driver claimed he was trying to distance himself from “an erratic driver.” He was charged with speeding and reckless driving and taken to a Fulton County jail. His Porsche was towed.
