Peachtree City’s newly upgraded fire protection rating might help reduce insurance premiums for homeowners.

Based on response times and other factors, the city has been reclassified as a Class 1 community by the national Insurance Services Office, up from a previous Class 3.

Fire Chief Joe O’Conor said that this makes Peachtree City one of only 11 Georgia locations with that high of a rating. Homeowners who want to provide documentation of the new rating to their insurers can obtain a copy of the ISO letter at www.peachtree-city.org/fire.
