New name, mission for Sandy Springs watershed group

Oct 14, 2009The Long Island Creek Watershed Preservation Association celebrated its 10th anniversary by re-organizing as the Watershed Alliance of Sandy Springs.
The alliance will serve all six watersheds in the city limits and has several members who are state certified as water quality monitors.
The group will hold its annual meeting at on Oct. 19, featuring Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeep Sally Bethea discussing water issues for the area. The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the North Fulton Annex building, is free and open to the public.
