Earlier this month Fred Gardiner was sworn in as the new city manager of East Point.

As city manager, Gardiner will be in the top position in the city, manging the everyday operations which is made of 13 departments and 475 employees.

Gardiner has over 20 years of experience in the public sector, including as city administrator in McDonough, director of development services for Griffin, and director of planning and zoning for Henry County.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in management and a Master's in urban and regional planning from the Alabama A & M University.
