If you’re not into the conventional scare of fall festivals, a nature hike in DeKalb County may be more your speed.

The county is hosting its fall festival on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve on Klondike Road in Lithonia. The event is free.

Hikers can learn about the nature preserve, which boasts "rolling hills, woodlands and secluded lakes surrounding the granite outcrops," according to the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area website. 

If hiking isn’t your thing, the festival also features face painting, games and food.
