A creamery in Norcross is recalling 60 pounds of fresh mozzarella cheese sold at a half dozen metro Atlanta farmers markets after an inspection determined that it was inadequately pasteurized, the Georgia Department of Agriculture said Tuesday.

Officials reported Tuesday that the recall was for 688 pounds of cheese, but revised that figure down to 60 pounds on Wednesday.

AtlantaFresh Artisan Creamery is recalling cheese sold in 8 ounce balls with a code date of "Best By 7/16." It was sold at farmers markets in Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Marietta and Atlanta.

The cheese could contain bacteria that cause illness, the agriculture department said.
